Guides

Learn how to use ChartFM from scratch or clear up specific doubts.

How to create your first chart

Click "New chart" in the sidebar or on the home screen. Give your chart a name, choose a period and start adding songs. You can add up to 100 tracks per chart.

Weekly charts and periods

Each chart is linked to a specific week. When you publish it, it automatically enters the current week. You can create charts for past weeks as a historical record.

Follow other users

Search for users by name or @handle. When you follow someone, the charts they publish appear in your feed. You can unfollow at any time.

How the feed works

The feed shows the charts and activity of people you follow, ordered by date. Use the tabs to filter by content type: charts, reviews or recommendations.

Scoring and global rankings

Every time a song appears on a published chart, it earns points in the global ranking. The higher its position on the chart, the more points. The measured week runs Monday to Sunday.

Account privacy

By default, your profile and charts are visible to everyone. You can make your account private in settings, so only people you approve can see your content.

How to join communities

Join communities that share your musical taste, contribute to collective charts and follow the ranking formed only by the group's members' votes.

How to discover music

Use Discover to find new artists, follow music fans with similar taste and explore charts by genre.

How to rate albums

Rate albums you've listened to from 0 to 100 and write reviews on CriticsFM, ChartFM's music review module.

Import from Last.fm or Spotify

Connect your Last.fm or Spotify account to build your charts from your real listening history, instead of adding songs one by one.

How the Cup works

64 artists, group stage and knockout rounds decided by community votes. See how to take part, vote and follow the bracket.

How scoring works

The full formula behind the points for each position, with a table and worked examples.
