How to import your Last.fm or Spotify history

Build your weekly chart from what you've already listened to

What is history import?

On the chart creation screen (/create), besides adding songs manually, you can automatically import the most played tracks from your Last.fm account or your recently played tracks on Spotify.

The import fills your chart with a ready-made list of songs, which you can still reorder, remove or complete before publishing. It doesn't publish anything on its own, the publishing step remains manual.

Before importing: connect your account

To import from Last.fm, you need a Last.fm username set up in your profile settings (/settings). Without it, the import button stays disabled.

To import from Spotify, you need to connect your Spotify account. If you haven't connected yet, the import screen itself shows a 'Connect' button that leads to Spotify authorization.

Importing from Last.fm

Click the Last.fm import button on the chart creation screen. A modal opens showing your connected account and a slider to choose how many songs to import, from 1 up to 200.

If the chart is for the current week, the import fetches your top tracks from the last month on Last.fm, in the same official order as Last.fm's monthly ranking.

If you're creating a chart for a past week, the import fetches scrobbles from the corresponding calendar month and orders the songs by number of plays in that period.

Click 'Import' to fill the list. The songs replace whatever was in the entries list at that moment.

Importing from Spotify

Click the Spotify import button. The modal shows the connection status and a slider to choose how many songs to import, from 10 up to 50 (the default is 20).

The import brings in the most recently played songs on your Spotify account, ordered from most recent to oldest.

Click 'Import' to fill the list with those tracks.

After importing

Review the imported list: reorder positions, remove songs that don't make sense for that week and add others manually if you want.

If your chart has a size set in your settings (for example, 50 positions), songs beyond that position are automatically discarded when publishing. It's worth importing more songs than your chart's size, so you have options when reordering.

The import doesn't publish the chart. After adjusting the list, use the publish button as usual.

Tips

You can import again as many times as you want before publishing, each new import replaces the current list.

Combine both methods: import from Last.fm to capture the month's volume and then complete it manually with songs from Spotify you listened to in the past few days, or vice versa.

If an import fails due to a connection error, try again. If Spotify asks you to reconnect, the connect button appears again in the modal.
