Como fã da banda, minhas expectativas estavam nas alturas, assim como aconteceram com os últimos lançamentos. No entanto, os álbuns anteriores acabaram me deixando com aquela sensação de que faltava algo, um gostinho de “quero mais”. Com Sanctuary, foi completamente diferente. O álbum não apenas correspondeu às minhas expectativas, como as superou. Sinceramente, nunca imaginei ouvir um trabalho tão inspirado do Evanescence mais de 20 anos depois dos melhores álbuns da banda. Foi uma surpresa extremamente positiva e me fez sentir novamente aquele orgulho de ser fã da banda. Sanctuary consegue soar atual sem abrir mão da essência que tornou o Evanescence único. Depois de sete dias ouvindo praticamente sem parar, ainda não consigo escolher uma faixa favorita. Das 12 músicas, nenhuma me parece fraca. Elas transitam entre boas, muito boas e excelentes, formando um conjunto consistente e marcante do começo ao fim.
Me impressionou o quanto Amy Lee e sua tchurma conseguiram, de fato, e pela primeira vez em ANOS, emular com sucesso a vibe que fez o Evanescence atingir um grande sucesso nos anos 2000. Esse é o álbum mais próximo de um The Open Door que eles fazem desde o próprio The Open Door, e, por consequência, também o melhor desde essa, que é a magnum opus da banda.
É um álbum incrível e coeso, mostra que a Amy Lee ainda tem muito a entregar! A banda ainda rende bastante quando rola investimento e dedicação.
