Official Top 50 R&B / Hip-Hop / Rap / Soul playlist

ChartFM's Urban Top 50 in listening order on Spotify

On ChartFM's global hub, the chart's short name is Urban. The full name describes the slice: R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap and Soul. The official Spotify playlist is that week's Top 50, in point order, with a fixed ID across editions.

There is no separate “urban” chart you must publish. Any eligible track inside your main weekly chart already enters the sum.

The list sits on the official profile https://open.spotify.com/user/31cltms7ljqqkaktslykzmyvgxqu. Follow the profile and share the playlist so the ranking stays easy to find for anyone who prefers Spotify to the site.

Tags that open the door

The filter uses track tags, with a fallback to artist tags. The chart definition includes the rnb-soul and hip-hop-rap core, plus labels such as trap soul, conscious hip hop, afrobeats, afroswing and others listed in code.

Without an eligible tag, the song does not enter, even if the community treats it as rap or R&B by ear. With an eligible tag, it scores on the same scale as the Global 100.

Afrobeats and some afro crossings enter this Top 50 through the tag list, not through a separate vote. If the tag is on the Urban list, the track competes here.

What the playlist shows and hides

It shows the order from 1 to 50 (or fewer if URIs are missing). It hides raw points, weeks on chart and comparison with the previous week. Those numbers live on /global/genre/urban.

It also hides ranked tracks without a Spotify link. They stay on the ChartFM table; they simply do not sync to the playlist.

Difference from Airplay

Global Airplay counts Last.fm plays with a per-person cap. Top 50 Urban counts positions on published charts, filtered by tag. A track can lead Urban without leading Airplay, and the reverse too.

The Urban playlist does not mix the two systems. It only mirrors the genre ranking from charts.

Weekly updates

When the genre snapshot is published, the official sync replaces the fixed playlist's tracks and updates the title with the week. Anyone already following the list does not need a new link.

During the measured week, editing your chart changes the raw material for the next calculation. The public playlist reflects the already published edition, not every intermediate draft.

How to contribute without ceremony

Publish your main weekly chart with the tracks you actually played or chose. If they carry Urban tags in the catalogue, the points already feed this Top 50 and, after sync, the playlist.

If an important track stays out, check catalogue tags before assuming a sync error. The filter is strict on purpose.

Official profile

Every official playlist, including Urban, lives at https://open.spotify.com/user/31cltms7ljqqkaktslykzmyvgxqu. Follow the profile and share the playlist: that is the direct way to point someone at that week's Top 50 R&B / Hip-Hop / Rap / Soul.

If the list fits someone you know, send the playlist link together with the genre page. They can hear the order and, if they want, check points and movement on ChartFM.

Frequently asked questions

Does Urban include trap?
When the track's tag sits on the accepted list (several trap and hip hop labels enter). The criterion is the catalogue tag, not the subgenre name in your head.
Can a track sit in Urban and Pop?
Yes, if its tags are accepted on both lists. The points repeat on both charts; it is not “half for each”.
Is playlist order Spotify popularity?
No. It is Top 50 Urban order on ChartFM.
Do community charts count in this Top 50?
No. The global genre ranking uses the site's personal main charts.
Where do I see week to week movement?
On the Urban genre page on ChartFM. The playlist is the listening mirror of the synced edition.
